During your first visit with Dr. Kubit, you will begin by discussing your concerns and health history, as well as your treatment goals. She will perform a visual exam and also use an intraoral camera to show you areas which require attention. This tool helps our patients remain informed and play a more active role in developing the best treatment plan. We will also use an advanced laser cavity detection system, which can show areas of decay.

Each full mouth reconstruction is uniquely tailored to meet each patient's situation. Once Dr. Kubit identifies your needs, you can discuss various options based on your current health, ability to undergo surgery safely, budget, and lifestyle factors. We will finalize a timeline, either grouping procedures or staging your care, and also discuss your projected treatment cost. Although dental insurance often partially or fully covers most restorative treatments, we can also discuss financing through Erie Federal Credit Union.

Full mouth reconstruction often begins with periodontal therapy. Good gum health will secure the foundation necessary to ensure long-lasting, optimal results. Gum disease impacts over 70 percent of Americans over the age of 65 and is prevalent in patients of all ages. Dr. Kubit may use a soft tissue laser to treat any existing gum disease, or in more advanced cases, may refer you to a periodontist for surgical intervention.

Once Dr. Kubit addresses any periodontal issues and makes sure that your upper and lower teeth are meeting properly, we can then determine the best way to address missing and damaged teeth. Extractions may be necessary for severely damaged teeth. In other cases, dental fillings or dental crowns may be recommended. 

Patients suffering from missing teeth can choose traditional bridges and dentures, or implant-supported restorations. These small dental implant posts are surgically embedded in the jaw, which help protect the surrounding bone against the degenerative effects of tooth loss. Dr. Kubit recommends this superior treatment option whenever possible, and works alongside an oral surgeon to coordinate care. Many patients also choose to whiten their smiles prior to the placement of any restorations for an overall brighter appearance.
